A bit about me.
After graduating from Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, I worked in companies like Ernst & Young, Adobe, AXA XL, etc. A school topper and nerd myself, I never made an effort to explore my passions outside academics. It’s only later in life I realized how much I missed out on building important skills like networking and public speaking. As a university recruiting lead, I interviewed thousands of brilliant students from IITs, NITs & RECs and found most of them had excellent ideas but did not know how to present them.
Academics is able to ‘impart required knowledge’, yet to become the next generation of innovators and thinkers, students need more ingredients like practical knowledge, excellent communication skills, latest in tech, problem solving, research, analytical abilities, fabulous interpersonal skills, and domain expertise. Unfortunately such skills can only be built over time and with exposure to mentorship. So I decided to take a leap to help coach teenagers in this after school program.

Online Course Outline
Age Group: 13 to 15 years (Entry); 16 - 19 years (Expert)
No. of online sessions: 8 sessions spread over 8-10 weeks
No. of 1:1 feedback sessions: 2 sessions
Time commitment: 60 to 90 minutes for each session
Course Fee: Upon request, limited seats, free trial class
Week 1: Introduction to Communication Skills - listening, speaking, confidence, verbal, nonverbal communication, understanding your audience.
Week 2: Mastering Verbal Communication - Voice modulation, clarity in speech and enunciation, expanding vocabulary and word choice, using storytelling and analogies effectively.
Week 3: Mastering Nonverbal Communication - Body language, posture, facial expressions, eye contact, gestures, etc.
Week 4: Active Listening - focusing without distractions, asking clarifying questions, paraphrasing, summarizing, responding thoughtfully, picking up on nonverbal cues.
Week 5: Building Confidence - Managing anxiety and nerves, power poses and postures, positive self-talk and affirmations, mastering your introduction, exude authority and command space.
Week 6: Structuring a Persuasive Speech - Craft an engaging hook and opening, use rhetorical techniques - ethos, logos, pathos, include relevant facts, statistics, examples, reinforce key messages, end with a clear call to action.
Week 7: Delivery of Speeches - Optimize vocal variety and inflection, make eye contact and connect with individuals, use strategic pauses, display energy and passion, be authentic and conversational.
Week 8: Practice and Improvement - Videotape speeches and review, rehearse and repeat, get feedback, refine and enhance over time, be committed to continuous improvement.
